SWJP, operating between Los Angeles and Tokyo, has announced a collaborative collection with “OPTION”, a car magazine founded in 1981, titled “SWJP × OPTION for TOKYO AUTO SALON 2026”.
This collection was first released at the “TOKYO AUTO SALON 2026”, held in January 2026 at Makuhari Messe, and was available at the JDMtours × TAS POP UP SPACE, where it received highly positive feedback from many visitors.
Due to the strong response at the event, the collection is now available in limited quantities on our EC site.
About the Collaboration
OPTION is a pioneering publication that has played a key role in shaping Japan’s tuning scene, specializing in modified car culture such as tuning cars, custom cars, drifting, and top-speed racing.
For this collaboration, SWJP conducted extensive research into OPTION’s archive from the 1980s and 1990s. Drawing inspiration from iconic cover designs of that era, original artwork was commissioned from illustrator SATOSIO MOTORS, known for his work on Choro Q package illustrations.
The artwork, created under the concept of a fictional OPTION magazine cover, has been applied to items such as T-shirts, trucker hats, and air fresheners, resulting in a collection that combines the energy of tuning culture with SWJP’s signature sense of playfulness.
